IMPRESSIVE VICTORIES AT THE 2011 MEMORIAL HERMANN HOUSTON TRIATHLON!

Peter Mallett won the 2011 Memorial Hermann Houston Triathlon on Sunday in dramatic fashion with a time of 1:57:55. He truly gave it all he had as he was taken to the hospital for a brief period afterwards due to exhaustion. His impressive victory was just one of many great performances this past weekend. Rounding out the top 5 for the males was Robert Wade in 2nd with a 1:58:35, local OULer Grant Glauser in 3rd with a 1:59:58, Derek York (winner of the Bridgeland Tri) with a 2:01:11, and Dean King at 2:01:53 racing amazingly in his last US race before moving back to Australia.

The women did a stunning job as usual turning in some very impressive times. Out Rival athlete Sarah Gray continued to leave her competition in the dust as she cruised to an impressive 5 minute victory over her next closest competitor turning in a time of 2:07:16. Sarah's coach, Michelle Leblanc, with a time of 2:12:40 was 2nd, Liz Baugher took 3rd at 2:17:38, Grace Benes was 4th at 2:20:12, and 5th place belonged to Kristi Darby with a 2:25:30.
